We're sending this letter of recommendation and thanks for the outstanding job Double T homes did on building our new home in Sunrise Beach.
We had interviewed several custom home builders in the highland lakes area and selected Thomas Slavin and Double T homes, based on their answers to our questions, references, and physically looking at some of his projects. Quality and attention to detail was a priority for us, along with staying in budget and schedule.
Tom, Stephanie, and ALL the sub-contractors' personnel were professional, and a pleasure to work with. As nuances typical to building a home came up, they, Nancy and I always discussed and came up with a decision, and the path forward. We could not have been happier with the results.
Since we have moved in, we have had several people (friends, family, etc.) who have come to our home, and tried to find some flaw, (telling us afterward) and they were all amazed at the quality and workmanship.

Jennifer and I wanted to write to let you know how satisfied we are with your work on our house on Packsaddle Drive in Blue Lake. We finally moved the rest of our furniture in a couple of weeks ago and have been able to enjoy the house the last few weekends.
Our experience with you all was among the best we've ever had with a builder. I'm confident that we've done more remodeling projects over the years than a lot of folks typically do. You consistently met or exceeded our expectations. As we had no previous relationship at the start, we were a bit nervous about the brevity of your contract and your ability to hit the aggressive timeline that we agreed to. We were delighted when you began work right away and hard work and their charges were in line with our expectations. You stayed within budget even after we added the metal roof. We appreciate your flexibility and patience with our desire to select and purchase a lot of plumbing and lighting fixtures as well as tile. Stephanie helped with some enjoyed working with her. The people who have visited so far can't believe we didn't involve a professional interior designer.

We are completely satisfied with the work of Double T Builders on both of these projects. Key observations are:
Tom Slavin has years of experience and we found him very attentive to our projects; he is very open and accessible; and, he made several good suggestions on plan changes during construction that improved aesthetics and efficiencies. Tom carefully reviewed the construction as it was completed and required timely reworks by the sub-contractors as needed.
The sub-contractors used by Double T Builders demonstrated excellent workmanship, were professional, pleasant to work with, and were responsive.
Materials used in the construction, not specified by us, were of excellent quality. Tom suggested alternative material suppliers, which provided comparable quality and lower prices, thus reducing construction costs.
Double T Builders kept the projects moving on a schedule that only occasionally slowed to wait for the availability of preferred sub-contractors. Both, Tom and we, wanted top-quality throughout the process.
Follow through on punch list items and subsequent modifications (after we started living in the house) were prompt and responsive.
Billings were timely and included copies of all invoices. A summary of billings compared to the original estimate for the main house would have been helpful. The original estimate contained several “allowances” that we knew were insufficient, because of quality differentials.
We enthusiastically recommend Double T Builders (Tom Slavin) to anyone who is considering home building or renovation projects.

Our experience with Tom and the crew at Double T Homes was very positive and is a very nice story.
Our family had made the decision to build on our lake property and make it a permanent residence. The property already contained a small 900 square foot cabin that my wife and I and our two children would live in during the building process (One Bathroom, Yikes!). We had just sold our 3000 square foot house and were stuffed into the cabin. We were eager to get started, to say the least.
We had identified two builders for the project, and of those two, we had narrowed it down to another local builder because the second builder in consideration would not work with our bank.
Now that we had picked a builder, we started the process of getting a loan, but when it came time to close the loan, the builder we selected could not provide the needed paperwork to our bank.
So after two months of trying to get started, we were back at ground zero searching for another builder. That is when we found Tom and his crew at Double T Homes. Tom met with us the same day and said they could get it done. Within 3 weeks, the loan was closed and we had the forms going up for our slab. Four and a half months later, we had our lake house, and we were able to move in for the holidays.
Tom and the crew at Double T Homes simply make things happen. The endless requirements of building on the water and satisfying the bank seemed to cause them little difficulty given their tremendous experience. Without a doubt, we will use Double T Homes again in the future and would recommend them to anyone considering building.
